Biography
Andrew “Drew” Ellingson is an independent filmmaker and multimedia artist based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They were born in Minneapolis, but spent the majority of their childhood moving across the Twin Cities, mostly the Saint Paul area. Although their early film inspiration includes the likes of Jim Henson and Steven Spielberg, they didn’t become interested in becoming a filmmaker until they watched "Le Voyage dans la Lune” around the age of 10 and started to make amateur short films with the family’s camcorder, casting mainly family members, neighbors, and classmates.
During their high school years, they were a crew member of the school’s news program Eagan AM where they learned how to edit video and operate a camera along with working with a production crew. They are currently working on their BFA in Filmmaking at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and since then they have continued to hone their filmmaking craft and develop powerful relationships with fellow creatives across the great state of Minnesota.
