Biography
Andrew “Drew” Ellingson is an independent filmmaker and multimedia artist based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was born in Minneapolis, but spent the majority of his childhood moving across the Twin Cities, mostly around the Saint Paul area. Although their early film inspiration includes the likes of Jim Henson and Steven Spielberg, he didn’t become interested in becoming a filmmaker until he watched "Le Voyage dans la Lune” around the age of 10 and started to make amateur short films with the family’s camcorder, casting mainly family members, neighbors, and classmates.
During their high school years, he worked as a crew member for the school’s news program Eagan AM where he first learned how to edit video and operate a camera along with working with a production crew. After graduating from high school, Drew done some internships for the State of Minnesota until starting college at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design where he received a BFA in Filmmaking. Since then, Drew has continued to hone his filmmaking craft and develop powerful relationships with fellow creatives across the great state of Minnesota.
